blue ribbon on the Spree - Berlin 2009

The Easter weekend we spent in Berlin in 2009 to the 37th Berlin participate in dance revolving around the Blue Ribbon . We could start on 3 days, once when I IDSF SEN tournament on Easter Saturday and twice at the SEN IA tournament on Easter Sunday and Easter Monday.

We traveled on Friday morning and were able to use the whole day again, to give us from Berlin, with absolutely perfect weather a first impression - and I must say, Berlin is a mondände, great city.

116th of 135 at the IDSF
tournament on Saturday it was then seriously our third tournament IDSF (to Brno and Vienna) started at 18.00 in the evening. There were 135 couples at the start and the first round has been danced in 12 heats. We were always in the 11 Heat and it was quite a challenge to keep warm between dances. The result was not particularly impressive, we arrived on 1 Days space 116 (results below: http://www.blauesband-berlin.de/Ergebnisse/2009/DE/91392de.html ).

# 28 of 54 on Easter Sunday
When SEN IA tournament on Easter Sunday were still 54 pairs at the start, with a preliminary round, which was danced in 6 heats. We survived the first round came in the first round of intermediate and eventually reached No. 28 (results below: http://www.blauesband-berlin.de/Ergebnisse/2009/DE/91401de.html ).

22nd 40 Easter Monday
The 2 SEN IA tournament on Easter Monday 40 pairs still motivated to compete and the first round has been danced in 5 heats. Again, we reached the first round and 22 were intermediate (results below: http://www.blauesband-berlin.de/Ergebnisse/2009/DE/91411de.html ).

Overall, our results were not very intoxicating, but we did not gain much experience and we will make every effort to these medium and long term to implement it.

Since our flight is on Tuesday evening went back to Vienna, we used the whole Tuesday (by the way again with a fantastic weather) for a trip to the city and visited Podsdam and the Sans Souci.

Our stay in Berlin was the Hotel Arizona in the Queen Elisabeth-Straße 47 a ( http://www.motel-berlin.de/ ). The hotel was very convenient in terms of the tournament but also in relation to the many spectacular sights of Berlin. The price per room, per night (including breakfast and free internet access in the lobby) was EUR 70, - and we can recommend the hotel really on. The hotel was a bit off lives, but it is almost exclusively populated by regulars, which produced a very warm, almost familial atmosphere and ambience. We felt very comfortable in any case.
