"There's rosemary, that's a reminder of our love" - Ophelia in Shakespeare's "Hamlet"
The alternative medicine therapy , aromatherapy or essential oil therapy is a popular alternative to traditional pharmaceutical Drugs. These natural products are in line with the body and add a gentle way, traditional medicine, or can even replace this part. In people with diseases, including spinal cord injury or multiple sclerosis (MS), these oils being the potential to reduce dependence on drugs and the stress have to reduce their side effects and mitigate them.
odors can trigger memories. They involve seen, heard and emotional impressions of events from our past and bring back to consciousness.
The aroma of oatmeal cookies, awakens in me childhood memories of my grandmother who bakes their culinary appetizers in a wood stove in their old-fashioned kitchen. These memories and smells can trigger a cascade of physical reactions and bring in the spiritual perspective of balance.
These reactions form the basis for an ancient healing tradition. These are called aroma therapy - a term coined by Rene Gatfosee, a French chemist for the perfume industry.
He worked with essential oils for perfumes for Duftkreierung until one day an explosion occurred in his lab and had burnt the fit. Of reflex, he plunged his arm into the nearest bowl to cool it, it was liquid lavender. To his amazement, the pain was immediately gone and there were no blisters or scars. Out of this experience, he changed his focus entirely on the medical effects of these oils.
The word "aromatherapy" can lay lead to confusion. Since natural products have been popular, it is a slogan used for commercial interests and the term "Aromathreapie" based on everything that has a fragrance.
A layman tends to think: "Aromatherapy is anything that smells." Well, you can not have aromatherapy without essential oils, but you can have essential oils without aromatherapy.
The difference lies in the application and purpose. Aromatherapy is the use of essential oils with a view to a positive change physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.
